We joined the lovely Haroon and Haleema as they continued their marriage celebrations at their post wedding banquet. We covered the groom and his family's preparations at their home before they hosted a delightful evening for their friends and family at the Redbridge Town Hall, Ilford. The evening was an extension of the wedding celebrations which took place the week before in Middlesborough.
Asia House in Marylebone and Regents park were the beautiful settings on a bright and sunny June day for Joe and Guisi's wedding. An intimate wedding ceremony followed by afternoon tea at their home made this day so personal and a joy to shoot for them.
The wedding of Cigdem and Terrence at the Henry Moore Foundation Hertfordshire
The first of our 2017 weddings where we were providing both photography and videography for the lovely Cigdem and Terrence at the Henry Moore Foundation and sculpture park in Hertfordshire. The sun was out, the drums were playing and the venue was a stunning backdrop to this beautiful humanist wedding ceremony. Chris our photographer even got to go back to visit his hometown of Hoddesdon for the reception at The Spotlight Theatre. The Henry Moore Foundation is a registered charity established for the promotion of the fine arts, in particular the works and sculptures of Henry Moore. The wedding barn is set among beautiful gardens with stunning pieces of art blending in with their natural surroundings, it was just a shame we didn't have longer to explore the grounds and get more photos there!
The evening reception fused cultures with Turkish and Caribbean traditions, and with the Turkish Drum and shrill pipe providing the soundtrack the party carried on long into the night. Here are a few of the photos from this vibrant day.
It’s been a while since we’ve updated our blog, due to a busy summer but wow what a summer it has been. We’ve covered sixty amazing weddings this year, ranging from the intimate to the downright extravagant. In this article series over the next few weeks I’m going to have a little look back at some of my favourite shots and scenes from some of my favourite venues from summer 2015. Hopefully some of these may even help you in your wedding planning.
So then my favourite shot of the year has to be the meadow shot at Merriscourt for Abby and Etienne’s wedding (See 3min 30 seconds in). With a nearly perfect Cotswold summer’s day drawing into the ‘golden hour’ we went out the back of the venue for a second photo shoot in Merriscourt’s wonderful meadow which overlooks stunning Oxfordshire countryside. The shot itself was a simple walking shot, we couldn’t even see their faces, but the combination of the weather, the location and scenery and the light was absolutely perfect. Despite having only left the hustle and bustle of their party in the venue behind them only a couple of hundred metres away and few minutes ago it truly felt an intimate moment and like they were the only people there (plus our discreet camera, but we don’t count).
A close second for my favourite shot of the year was Martin and Tanyel’s golf guard of honour, for totally different reasons. In was impromptus and silly, plus I got to ride in a golf buggy whilst filming at Dyrham park Golf Course J.
Back to Merriscourt, the venue was a wonderful setting for a wedding and even better location for a wedding video. The buildings and grounds were stunning in a very humble and charming way. It felt luxurious without being pompous. I was made to feel at home as well as the guests, and with three large interior areas for the wedding breakfast, ceremony and dancefloor, plus a courtyard, garden, meadow plus and also a bridal suite there were plenty of locations to both film and relax in.
Changes in UK Marriage Law for 2015
Nothing major but something to be aware of that next year there are to be changes to the required notice period for all marriages and civil partnerships throughout the UK. From March 2015 the notice period required for all marriages will increase from 15 days to 29 days. There are also different rules if either you or your partner is a foreign national, and there are different rules for different religious ceremonies.
Video stills are simply still images that are taken from video footage. In this short article I’m going to have a little look at how best to utilise this feature of video, how it could save you money and compliment your wedding day coverage.
Like any industry wedding videography is not alone in having complex terminology. What you thought may have started out as an easy process in choosing what type of wedding video you wanted can actually get a bit complicated (if you talk to the wrong people). To choose your wedding video, you don’t really need to know exactly how to describe what it is you want. There’s a reason wedding videographers put samples their HD wedding videos online, and that is so you can see their style. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with finding a film style you like and asking a videographer to replicate it; but if you had a vision you wanted to explain to your film maker, or just wanted a better understanding of what’s involved this article should help shed a little light on the industry.
Marryoke videos and other alternative wedding videos
Hi, in this wedding videographer blog I’m going to talk about the range of other short films associated with your Wedding day, including the ‘Story so far’ or ‘How they met’ and the ‘Marryoke’ music video. These videos make a fantastic additional to the celebrations, either as truly unique memento or keepsake or if you’re feeling a bit more adventurous a special touch to the evening entertainment on the day.
Review of Hedsor House.
First of all, to be clear this is not going to be a standard wedding venue review. This will be from the videographer’s perspective, and will not be covering the cost, capacity or customer service of the venue. In this review will be talking through what it was like to film here and what you can expect from your wedding videographer, and therefore in turn your wedding video at this venue. The aim of this is for couples planning a wedding to get the best out of their wedding videoography, whoever you hire for as your videographer.
We have just watched our video and could not be happier with the finished product. On your wedding day everything is such a whirlwind and you forget so much, Filmmakers captured all the best bits and helped us treasure our special memories with the people we love, I could not recommend them enough, thank you so much- Tanyel and Martin
