Some of our Summer 2015 wedding highlights: Entry1

It’s been a while since we’ve updated our blog, due to a busy summer but wow what a summer it has been. We’ve covered sixty amazing weddings this year, ranging from the intimate to the downright extravagant. In this article series over the next few weeks I’m going to have a little look back at some of my favourite shots and scenes from some of my favourite venues from summer 2015. Hopefully some of these may even help you in your wedding planning.

So then my favourite shot of the year has to be the meadow shot at Merriscourt for Abby and Etienne’s wedding (See 3min 30 seconds in). With a nearly perfect Cotswold summer’s day drawing into the ‘golden hour’ we went out the back of the venue for a second photo shoot in Merriscourt’s wonderful meadow which overlooks stunning Oxfordshire countryside.  The shot itself was a simple walking shot, we couldn’t even see their faces, but the combination of the weather, the location and scenery and the light was absolutely perfect. Despite having only left the hustle and bustle of their party in the venue behind them only a couple of hundred metres away and few minutes ago it truly felt an intimate moment and like they were the only people there (plus our discreet camera, but we don’t count).

A close second for my favourite shot of the year was Martin and Tanyel’s golf guard of honour, for totally different reasons. In was impromptus and silly, plus I got to ride in a golf buggy whilst filming at Dyrham park Golf Course   J.
Back to Merriscourt, the venue was a wonderful setting for a wedding and even better location for a wedding video. The buildings and grounds were stunning in a very humble and charming way. It felt luxurious without being pompous. I was made to feel at home as well as the guests, and with three large interior areas for the wedding breakfast, ceremony and dancefloor, plus a courtyard, garden, meadow plus and also a bridal suite there were plenty of locations to both film and relax in.
